Tips for negotiating with an Asset Finance Bank.

Each asset finance bank will have specialist departments who will guide you through the process and let you know what's possible. Ask your bank manager who the local asset finance manager is.

  • Ask them a few questions.
  • How long have they been an asset finance bank manager?
  • What big asset finance deals have the done recently (They may not tell you this, but ask them anyway).
  • Always let them know you're looking at more than their bank, tell them you've got meetings with various asset finance banks.  Never sign the deal there and then.
  • Always get a comparison from another bank and preferrably a broker too.
  • Find out the length of time between getting the finance deal and actually taking the funds.

Don't sign anything however until you've checked out the competition! Soon we'll be rating the banks right here on this site!  Check out the asset finance forums in the meantime or our quotes page for advice on getting a quote.  You don't need to go with an asset finance bank, you can also go through an asset finance broker and sometimes you get a better deal.
