What you need to know about asset finance brokers.

In the same way that media buyers transformed the advertising world by acting as middle men to mass purchase t.v., radio and press advertising, so asset finance brokers have slotted themselves neatly in between the banks and large financial companies and the end purchaser - you.

While many have seen this as step backwards there are a number of benefits in going through an asset finance broker.

  • They have regular and good contact with the institutions so have up to date information on the best deals.
  • Because they bring a large amount of business to financial houses the broker regularly get's to negotiate on your behalf for a better deal should the right one not be availalble.
  • It's in the brokers interest to get you the best asset finance deal.  Many brokers get a substantial amount of repreat business as the finance is generally used to help businesses grow.

A few tips.  Ask if the broker are members of the official bodies.  Ask how long the broker has been in business.  Ask if the broker is affiliated with just one financial house or whether they are free to choose who they deal with.  Some mortgage brokers only work and are tied to one bank or building society!  It's the same with some asset finance brokers.  Most aren't tied, but some are.
