The Asset Finance Poll Results Results are in!

We polled over 100 Asset Finance Brokers and banks and asked for their opinions about the future of the Asset Finance Industry.

The results were startling.

And here they are.

We asked.... 

Has the credit crunch had an effect on your busienss1. Has the credit crunch had a direct effect on YOUR business?

67% of you said "no". Most commented that you, yourselves were not in need of asset finance.

2. Has the Credit Crunch had a direct effect on your clients business?

74% Said "yes" that it had.  In the main problems seemed to be in getting the fniancial institutions to release funds, and then to get them to release them on time.  Some people had delays of six or more weeks with some banks telling brokers to "come back in September".

 

 

Which area of asset finance will see the greatest growth over the next ten years.3. Which area of finance do you think will see the greatest growth in the next 10 years?

Overwhelmingly 43% of you believed it would be vehicle finance with the US based leasing services coming this way.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Which area of finance will see the greatest decline over the same period4. Which area of finance do you think will see declining the most over the same period?

Probably influenced by the current market 78% of you thought in the Plant and Machinery - particularly in engineering for the property market.

 

 

 

 

 

Will lending rates go up over the next 12 months5. Do you think lending interest rates will go up of down in the next 12 months?

Almost a completely even split with 34% saying down, 32% saying up and 33% saying no change.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some great stuff and some food for thought.
